The holidays are upon us. And for most of us, that means additional stress. We have concerts, kids' holiday shows, Holiday party upon Holiday party, family, in-laws, retail madness. This is in addition to what we are already packing into our schedules! To add to it, if you're entering this season with pre-existing health concerns, even that seemingly innocuous 'pinch' in your midback that only happens when you do 'this one thing,' you're setting yourself up to become a breeding ground for any Joe the Bacteria or other pathogens you may come into contact with in the next few weeks.
If you are constantly overloading your system during this time, eating poorly, failing to keep to your exercise regimen, sleeping less, and adding the emotional stress of the holidays to your already taxed body, you could blow a circuit. This may manifest as something small, like general soreness or joint achiness, or you could lose an immunity battle to the cold or the flu and wind up dealing with those symptoms for an extended time because your overworked body just isn't prepared to deal with it.
